FABULOUS Antique STERLING genuine Chrysoprase Bracelet
  
This has genuine Chrysoprase, which is something that is rare in itself , and is set in a bracelet that is over 100 years old. Not to mention this is one of the finest victorian bracelets there is. The crafstmanship on this exquisite with ornate hand wrought scrolled filigree. Each stone is bezel set and has the richest and eeriest soothing color to it. Chrysoprase is one of the most prized varieties of quartz. Higher quality specimens often rival fine jade, for which it is sometimes mistaken. And this is one of the finest qualities, in my opinion. Prussian king, Frederick the Great, adorned his palace with objects and furniture made fully or partly of chrysoprase. His favorite ring was set with a large chrysoprase surrounded by 15 brilliant stones (presumably diamonds). Reportedly, Frederick never took this ring off. He also carried a walking stick with a knob of chrysoprase.
The stone has also been renowned as having unusual powers. In the Middle Ages, it was believed that if you put a piece of chrysoprase in your mouth, you would become invisible, and Romanian folklore claims chrysoprase enabled its owner to understand the language of lizards. Metaphysical characteristics attributed to the gemstone today include soothing heartache and loneliness, and promoting emotional balance. It also is said to relieve gout, eye problems and mental illness This has its original safety chain and it has a good sturdy working slide in clasp. Antique sterling CROSS crucifix WIth Hospitaller's cross INSIDE
  
Following the first crusade,a Hospitaller Order which as a Christian Order had adopted a simple form of the Cross (the Greek cross). This Order based in Jerusalem took on a military wing to defend Christians, and as the Order developed, its hitherto plain cross became more ornate in form. Specifically this is how the Cross today known as the Maltese Cross began its development. This Sterling old cross is 2" tall and has elaborate victorian designs all the way down to the little nails that protrude out of it on each of the four larger corners. This is in excellent condition and is marked sterling on the back.

Each piece of this is hand wrought and done by hand with an artists touch that no machine can reproduce. 1800’s HUGE sterling chatelaine charm bracelet mechanical vinaigrette watch key purse & MORE
     
This is a really rare piece with some of the largest charms I have ever seen on a bracelet ( more like pieces that fit on a chatelaine). Just the purse or letter satchel that opens and closes is 1 1/4” x 1” and has a working latch. ( some of them are photographed near a modern dime so you can see just how large these are). I think most all the pieces are hallmarked too. Everything is sterling or 800 silver. I will give you a list of the charms with as much info as I can about each. The first charm is a working chased miniature button hook that is 1 3/4”. This not only has a loop that hangs it from a chain but it also has a hole that goes all the way thru it so something could be hung from either side of it. Then there is an 1890 Queen Victoria Hong Kong 5 cents. Next is a thick, double sided chased fob with hallmarks that I can’t make out. Next is a golden topaz topped watch key that measures almost 2” long with beautiful etchings on the sides. The purse is hallmarked CAN, an anchor, a lion and a small e. The next coin is a 3 ZEN 1897 that has fancy silver scroll work on the top to hold the coin on. Then there is a silver top to a chatelaine pencil. The lion is next and has a shield with a fleur de lis on it. The next one is a rotating flip fob with genuine bloodstone and carnelian ( carnelian has a crack) and is hallmarked with a small n, an anchor and a lion. The horseshoe is huge ( 1 1/4” long and 1” wide) and is marked WAB PAT 2-07-70 BCM BMC. Then there is a high riding boot with the initials JPH anchor lion and a small r. There is also a number 491553 on the bottom of the boot. Next is a working horse? bell with a red enamel cross and a saddle top and 800 on the top. The next coin is 1878 Victoria DC Brittanniar Regina FD. And last is the most beautiful bird cage shaped pomander or vinaigrette. The thick chain is also sterling and it measures 7 3/4” long. This is not a tourist charm bracelet from the 20th century, but a genuine chatelaine charm bracelet from the 19th century ( 1800’s). The clasp works fine and all the charms are in very good condition. This is a real find and I hope it gets a good home because I think these are all original to this bracelet.

This is for a piece right from the 1920’s. NOT a reproduction. This has not only the large chrysoprase stone but also the beautiful etchings on the bottom of the setting. Accented with marcasites this 1 ¼" LONG setting is truly an extraordinary piece. Vintage CORAL Yemmonite TREMENDOUS PARURE
       
Origins of this wonderful jewelry go back over 3000 years. Perhaps King Solomon’s romance with the Queen of Sheba was the reason that the Jews left Judea and arrived in Yemen by way of Africa. Once they arrived, they remained for centuries as the country’s primary artisans and craftsmen. In Yemen, a person who wanted a piece of jewelry would give five silver coins to the silversmith. Three coins were melted for the jewelry itself and the other two coins would be the jeweler's fee. It took two days to prepare the silver into threads and small silver domes. On the third day, the jewelry would be crafted. This EXOTIC vintage necklace, bracelet and earrings ( parure ) were made by the indigenous people of Yemen. The collar is 27" long x 4" wide with a 13" x 4" center element and 7" long cotton sides . Elaborately decorated with applied filigree , overlaid with adorable little rosette elements , filigree domes , and dangles , features THREE breathtaking Tube amulets and has genuine coral and is made from low content silver. ( other two pieces are sterling) Each silver bead was designed individually by hand, incorporating repoussé and chasting with unique granulation patterns, which is so exclusive to, and typical of, Yemen design. The matching bracelet is 1" wide with an interior 6 1/4" measurement, and is made from sterling silver with coral. It unscrews at one side, and will fit the smaller wrist. The pierced earrings are made from sterling silver with coral and 2 1/2" long x 1 1/2" long (without the stainless steel pierced tops). The set makes quite a dramatic statement, and is lightweight enough to wear comfortably. It is in excellent condition.

ROMANTIC VINTAGE Coral Yemenite Sterling Coral Necklace

This is a wonderful example of the beauty and intricacy of the workmanship of the indigenous Yemeni Jewish silversmiths,
otherwise known as the Yemenites . The world famous artisans of
southern Arabia and beyond, whom exclusively mastered the
arena of fine silver crafts for centuries, until the early 1900's
when most of their community immigrated to Palestine , marking
the end of this unique art . This facinating vintage set with a
necklace, TWO bracelets and earrings set was made by the
indigenous people of Yemen. The necklace is 36" long with a 3 1/4"
wide x 4" center element and weighs 9.8 ounces. It's lavishly
configured with multiple strand of precious antique genuine red coral
of natural substance and color , incorporating scarce and intricate
mulberry and plain silver beads . More coral beads are set on the
pendant with an adorable red glass gem . The coordinating hinged bracelets (67 grams each) are 1" wide with an interior 6 1/4" measurement, and both unscrew at one side with push pin closure . Notice the elaborately decorated applied filigree , overlaid with adorable little geometric elements , and Coral adornments. The pierced earrings are 3" long x 1" wide (without the stainless steel pierced tops). The set is made from sterling silver with genuine red coral bead accents. It is in excellent condition. This is quite a set that will get you a LOT of compliments! A single ornament of these beads is worth a little fortune, but a matching configuration like this is simply priceless !

Medieval Greco-Roman mythology CAMEO bracelet EARRINGS
    
This medieval Greco-Roman mythology soldier cameo bracelet and matching earrings are quite the historical set! These are 800 silver and are original to each other ( the fact that it has survived virtually unscathed to the 21st century is a testament to the overall craftsmanship and durability of this unusual cameo set) . Each of the hand carved faces are different too and made of shell. The earrings measure almost 1" and are artfully crafted screw backs set within golden braided frames. 19th century French English CUT STEEL belt collection
       
I bought this collection years ago and was going to have it framed but just never got around to it.. My loss your gain because this has pieces that are as early as the 1800‘s up to the end of the 19th century ( 1800‘s). The way to date these is not only with the number of facets but also by the backs of
them where the rivets are. Each rosette ( faceted bead on top) is hand set onto these. This jewelry was popular in the 1800‘s but people don‘t realize it was actually done in the 1700‘s too. The way to tell is with more facets, the older it is. And French pieces were typically oval where as English were round. I have a combination of both. The largest piece is the belt and that is the oldest. I have the links and the long fleur de lis buckle too. I have never seen a fleur de list cut steel piece in the form of a buckle which is one reason it really intrigues me. That buckle is 6" long to give you an idea of the size of the other pieces ( also see dime in the photo will help) These are highly collectible especially ones that are not just your average square buckle. ANTIQUE sterling Etruscan Museum piece belt & Buckle   
This is an antique (not a reproduction) European silver ( 800) tremendous belt and buckle. The metal work on all the pieces is so detailed that is must have taken many months just to make this. It is all hand worked. The belt buckle is 4" long and it looks like it has Georgian diamonds in it. If you look close you can see they are all hand cut and very irregular. They are not rhinestones. The belt has 12 arched thick hinged panels each with an ornate amount of beautiful metal work. This looks like it would have been worn by someone of a higher class. The buckle has some strange animals figures on it and they appear to be in gold. There are hundreds of tiny metal pieces carved out of this to make the raised designs. This is so much nicer than the photos and has a lot of weight to it. The belt is made so it has two hooks on each end where the belt buckle attaches. This is in such great shape too. I only see one of the 14 stones missing. The length of the belt is 27". With the buckle attaches it is 28 ½". The width is 1 1/3" . This is one of a kind and I doubt you ever seen another since this is all hand crafted

This is for one of two sets of antique sterling spun spider web large place card holders or Chinese hair ornaments from the 17th Century (Ming period or later) that I have and I can guarantee they are very rare indeed. Completely hand wrought with SIX spiders and webs that are very realistic too!. These measure 2 1/2" across and each is a bit individual from each other. In the late 1800's, Darwin's controversial theories on evolution, as well as new botanical discoveries taking place, created popular interest in the natural world. Some are typical jewelry items, for example - gem set butterflies, gold houseflies, enameled beetles, silver monkeys, etc. But there are also more unusual forms of ornaments. AMETHYST PEARL Edwardian french wire earrings
 
These Edwardian style genuine amethyst and pearl earrings are absolutely STUNNING! The detail in the metal work is reminiscent of the Victorian and Edwardian styles where stones were inset into intricate settings and pearls were used as accents.
